A warm Friday is on the cards across the country, according to the South African Weather Service.

Impact-based warnings

There is a yellow warning for winds which could result in structural damage over the Cape Metropole, as well as causing navigation difficulties at sea between Lambert's Bay and Hermanus.

Fire danger warning

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the Kamiesberg, Kai !Garib and Dawid Kruiper in the Northern Cape, Matzikama, Saldanha Bay, City of Cape Town and Stellenbosch municipalities of the Western Cape.

Advisories

A yellow warning has been issued for wind - resulting in possible structural damage, as well as difficulty in navigation at sea between Dassen Island and Hermanus in the Western Cape on Saturday and Sunday.

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers in the afternoon.

Mpumalanga can expect morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise cloudy and warm with isolated thundershowers, but scattered in the highveld. It will be hot in the Lowveld.

Conditions in Limpopo will be cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers, except over the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley.

The North West will be partly cloudy and warm to hot, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the west.

The Free State will be partly cloudy and warm to hot, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the west.

In the Northern Cape, there will be morning fog along the coast where it will be cool, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but partly cloudy in the north-east with isolated showers and thundershowers. It will be very hot in the north.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly.

The Western Cape will be cloudy and cool with isolated morning light rain along south coast, otherwise fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy in the eastern parts.

Windy conditions are expected in Cape Town.

The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly along the south coast, otherwise strong southerly to south-easterly touching gale between Lambert's Bay and Hermanus.

In the western half of the Eastern Cape, it will be partly cloudy north of the escarpment in the morning, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated light rain along the coastal regions.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly.

The eastern half of the Eastern Cape will be cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered along the coast. It will be partly cloudy and fine north of the escarpment.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal can expect morning fog over the interior, otherwise cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers but warm in the north-east.

The wind along the coast will be light north-easterly in the north in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.
