Private sector is answer to Ramaphosa's problems

17 Sep 2019, 00:44 GMT+10

The vast majority of people appointed ministers are not qualified to run their portfolios.

Few have an understanding of their subject and have little business acumen.

A great deal of the things they implement are not suited to their portfolios and they would never survive in most Western countries.

It's a replica of the previous apartheid government under the then ruling National Party.

What it boils down to is that in terms of choices, Cyril Ramaphosa is basically forced to pick the best of a bad bunch. And so too was the National Party when it was in power.

Cyril Ramaphosa is an intelligent man and used to dealing with people all over who are experts in their respective fields.

This begets the question, why does he not use the resources open to him and look at the private sector for the best available talent, irrespective of their political alliances?

It just makes common sense.

And if he did, the ANC will still remain in power, but South Africa will most definitely move forward as qualified people take over the running of institutions like Eskom, SAA and the like.
